The Rummer Hotel is only a few meters away from the Bristol Registry Office, situated in the historic Saint Nicholas’ Market
Our Main Bar and Restaurant or Exclusive Cellar Bar can be hired for any type of reception, from drinks and canape receptions after the ceremony, to a wedding buffet or a full multi course fine dining meal, wine tastings and live music.
You can rest assured that you are in capable hands. The management team have organised many different styles of weddings, and fulfilled numerous special requests. All of our staff are service industry professionals, trained to the highest standard and we never use unreliable agency staff.
The Main Bar and Restaurant seats up to 70 guests for dining and 150 guests for drinks. The Cellar Bar seats up to 32 guests for dining. Both floors are also available to hire simultaneously.
Rather than offer packages and set menus, The Rummer Hotel offer a completely bespoke service, with one of our management team with you all the way through the planning. Our Head Chef is also available for you to talk through menu options. As such, it is impossible to put prices here, so we have included some recent examples of previous weddings we have hosted.
Example 1 – 45 people, Canapes On Arrival, 3 Course Meal, and Late Night Bar
Canapes and champagne served on arrival in the main bar, followed by speeches and a 3 course dinner. The menu was chosen by the bride and groom, and each guests placed their order prior to the evening. The Bride and Groom preferred not to have live music after the meal and opted instead for our music system, and a playlist which they had put together.
A member of our award winning cocktail bar team, was asked by the couple to design them a signature cocktail. It proved to be a very popular choice with the guests, and was tailored to be a perfect union between the tastes of the bride and groom.
After the ceremony at the Bristol Registry Office, the Bride and Groom wanted a place for everybody to meet afterwards for drinks. They chose to hire our intimate Cellar Bar. Champagne was served to guests on arrival, and after a couple of hours of socialising and regrouping, the party made their way onto a rural venue to continue the festivities
Example 3 – 60 people, Oysters and Canapes on arrival, Wine and Spirit Tastings, 4 Course Meal, and Late Night Bar
The oysters were served upon arrival with glasses of champagne and a string quartet, before the group split for tastings. The gentlemen had a tutored whiskey tasting whilst the ladies enjoyed a wine tasting. The canapes were specially devised by our chef and themed on “fire” and “water”. They were served with drinks before the guests took their places for speeches and dinner.
The dinner menu was created through numerous consultations with our Chef, focusing on traditional fayre with a modern twist. The “Hot/Cold Apple and Celeriac Soup” was a particular hit. After dinner a live band had been organised, and drinks flowed until the early hours of the morning.
